PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION
A/C
Transit: The 11, 12 and NL lines stop within
a few blocks of our office. The 11 line runs along Harrison
and stops at Grand; the 12 runs along Grand and stops at
Park View; the NL runs along Grand and stops at Perkins.
BART: The
19th St./Oakland BART station is about 8 blocks from
our office. From BART, go up Broadway to Grand and
turn right. 230 Grand Avene will be on your left
shortly after you cross Harrison.
WHEN
YOU ARRIVE
Parking: Two-hour
street parking and meters are available in the area surrounding
our office. The lot in the back of the building is reserved for
other building tenants, although clients may drop off and pick
up there after 5:00 on weekdays and on weekends.
Building access: The front door
to the building is generally open Monday through Friday,
9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Check the door first—if locked,
enter # and 2-0-1 on the push-button pad to the left of
the door. This will dial our emergency number upstairs,
and you will be buzzed in. It is helpful if you let staff
know that you are at the door, as this line is used for
phone calls as well.
Wheelchair access: Use
one of the narrow driveways on either
side of the building to get to the
door at the back; make sure we are
expecting you so that we leave the
back door unlocked. The elevator
will be just inside the door to your
right. Press and hold the call button
until you hear the elevator move.
The doors are not automatic and are
rather cumbersome, so it’s
best to have help, if possible.
Office access: Our
office, Suite 201, is at the top
of the right-hand staircase, or
across the second floor lobby from
the elevator. Ring the bell and
someone will let you in (this may
take a moment), or ask for the
door code when you schedule your
appointment. Make yourself comfortable
in the waiting area. The person
you are scheduled to see will come
to the waiting room when ready.
Noise level: Please
be aware that students are concentrating
in our offices. Be careful to
speak softly in the waiting area
and to step into the lobby for
cell phone conversations.
